The Callisto Protocol’s Advancements in Shadow and Reflection Rendering Highlighted in AMD Video

The Callisto Protocol

The Callisto Protocol is an upcoming horror game with stunning graphics, and a lot of work went into the game’s shadows and reflections. AMD’s YouTube channel uploaded a three-minute video featuring Jorge Jimenez, general manager of Striking Distance Studios. The interview details how the developer brought The Callisto Protocol to life using Unreal Engine 4, AMD Radeon, and some brand-new technologies.

Meet Striking Distance Studios, the developers behind The Callisto Protocol, who are utilizing AMD Radeon™ Raytracing and FSR 2 technologies to realize their creative vision and bring cutting-edge lighting effects and visuals to their new horror survival experience.

While Striking Distance Studios used Unreal Engine 4 to develop much of the game, the engine needed modifications in order to render better shadows and reflections. The studio managed to develop solutions for both systems with the help of AMD Radeon. The company also provided development machines that allowed Striking Distance Studios to finish the game on schedule.
