The Division 2 Story DLC Delayed Indefinitely

Last year in June, Ubisoft revealed the Year 6 roadmap for The Division 2, which confirmed new story DLC is planned to be released sometime this year. This would have made the wait for The Division 3 a whole lot easier. Well, unfortunately, that’s not happening anytime soon.
Ubisoft has just delayed The Division 2 story DLC, and what’s worse, there’s no timetable on when we’ll see it.
The Division 2’s Story DLC Postponed and There’s No Timetable for It
New announcement came from the official The Division 2 Twitter/X account where the studio said, “Our team is dedicated to continuing to build the future of The Division 2. We have exciting updates in store including the new season we can’t wait for you to play starting on February 25th. We know you are eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming DLC. To ensure we deliver the best possible experience, we’ve decided to take a little extra time to refine it, therefore the DLC will not ship during Year 6.”
The wording of “will not ship during Year 6” is kind of vague. Does this mean we can’t expect it at all this year? Or will we see it sometime this year? It’s hard to say, but given it’s been delayed indefinitely, don’t expect it anytime soon.
This latest development on The Division 2 comes at hot on the heels of Ubisoft’s numerous missteps; from its high-profile release Star Wars Outlaws underperforming commercially, to Assassin’s Creed Shadows getting delayed twice, it’s gotten so bad, that Tencent is reportedly stepping in to help right the ship.
There is one glimmer of light though, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is said to be getting a remake, and based on the early info we reported on, it’ll be more than a visual upgrade.
As for The Division 2, expect more seasonal content to be released, though given the past few seasons, we’re not expecting much outside of recycle missions and a new cosmetic or two.
