At today’s The Division dev stream that marked the franchise’s 10th Anniversary, not only did Massive Entertainment release a massive title update for The Division 2 today, but the developers also shared what’s on the way for the looter shooter in Year 8.

The Division 2 Year 8 Season 1 kicks off next month, and is called the “Road Ahead.” In the new season, players will see agents rise up taking on the Black Tusk, as a bunch of new content are confirmed to be on the way, along with what the community has been asking for and that’s crossplay.

The studio also confirmed that another expansion is set to drop this year, which makes this the third premium DLC after Warlords of New York and the Battle for Brooklyn.

The Division 2 Year 8 Plans Revealed

While Ubisoft hasn’t shared everything we can expect in Year 8 Season 1, the developers did reveal some fo the new features and content we can expect this year.

  • Crossplay confirmed for all platforms
  • Return of Classified Assignments with new story-driven missions
  • Brand-new Incursion
  • Survivors (teased previously) will see the return of winter survival to the game
  • PvP balancing changes and new content

Alongside that, there’s also the confirmation of an all-new DLC too! There’s even a teaser trailer for it that confirms agents will head to Central Park to deal with this new threat.

Expect more details regarding Year 8 to be shared in the coming weeks and months leading up to Season 1 and beyond. Hopefully, we’ll get a proper roadmap for Year 8 soon, too.
