The Finals player count

Despite not having a release date, it seems that the free-to-play arena shooter, The Finals, has managed to be quite the hit, as Embark has announced that The Finals Open Beta player count has achieved 7.5 million players during the last two weeks.

The Finals Open Beta has ended, and with it, millions of contestants say goodbye to Embark’s ambitious free-to-play arena-based shooter. But it’s not forever, as the folks over at Embark have now begun working on improvements and fixes based on all the feedback they’ve gathered in the last two weeks. And though they expected this open beta to draw a lot of attention, it seems that the turnout for it was bigger than anticipated, as The Finals Open Beta player count reached (total, not concurrent) a staggering 7.5 million across all platforms.

“The Open Beta has come to an end! An unforgettable week for us — a whopping 7.5 MILLION contestants entered the arena! Now it’s time for us to hunker down and get back to work on all the fixes and improvements you helped us identify. GG and until next time!” Embark said on X.

A successful open beta indeed, with Steam Charts indicating that it had over 120,000 players on average daily on PC alone, with an all-time concurrent high of 264,874.

Impressive numbers indeed, though with a large turnout, it also meant that it had attracted the unwanted audience of cheaters. How Embark plans to address that isn’t known, but hopefully, it’s feedback they’ve managed to gather during the open beta test. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

The Finals is planned to be released for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Let’s hope a release date is around the corner, as I’m sure everyone is anxious to get back in.

In the meantime, what was your favorite thing about the beta? Have any big moments from it you’d like to share? Let us know!
