Magnum Studio and Nexon have released The First Descendant‘s cinematic story trailer, and it finally reveals the name of the silver-haired villain first shown in the gamescom 2022 trailer.

A century ago in the game’s universe, the human race was conquered by the “Vulgus,” alien invaders from the “other world.” These invaders were followed by the devastating “Collosi” (who we can assume are the huge monsters featured in earlier trailers).

Humanity found a chance to fight back in the form of the “Ancestors’ Power,” but it now faces another threat with the emergence of Karel, the new leader of the Vulgus. The silver-haired dictator’s “dark ambitions” are posed to bring both worlds to ruin, and the Descendants must now use the Ancestors’ Power to put a stop to his plans.

Players can now register for The First Descendants’ Steam beta. The beta’s full schedule is as follows:

• Registrations Open: August 23
• Beta Start: October 20 – 12am PDT (3am ET)
• Beta End: October 26 – 11:59pm PDT (2:59am ET on October 27)

The First Descendant is currently under development for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, with no definite release date as of yet.
