Survivors, rejoice! Following positive fan and critical reception, HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation has been renewed for a second season. In addition, The Last of Us HBO Season 2 will apparently cover the events of 2020’s The Last of Us Part 2 according to a tweet from series creator Neil Druckmann.

Only two episodes in, The Last of Us HBO is already viewed as the end of the video game adaptation curse. Starring Game of Thrones alumni Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, the series covers the events of the first game beginning right at the start of the Cordyceps outbreak.
Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann tweeted out a spectacular visual in celebration of the series getting picked up for another season, and apparently confirmed that Season 2 will cover the events of The Last of Us Part 2:

The Last of Us HBO is currently airing, with the third episode set to broadcast this Sunday.
