Daedalic Entertainment has announced that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been delayed indefinitely, and this is to deliver the “best possible experience” to gamers.

Over on Twitter, the studio pushed out the announcement stating that the game has been delayed for a “few months,” and once a specific window or release time period has been nailed down, we’ll be given an update.

First of all, we would like to thank all of you for your patience and support so far. Over the last years, our team has been working hard to bring you a remarkable story in a breathtaking world, filled with magic and wonder.

We are dedicated to meeting our community’s expectations and uncovering the untold story of Gollum in a way that honors the
vision of J. R. R. Tolkien.

That being said, in order to deliver the best possible experience, we have decided to push the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum” by a few months. We will update you with an exact timing in the near future.

The latest we’ve seen from the game was a gameplay blowout earlier this month during NACON Connect. Based from the wording from Daedalic, this seems like the original September release date has been moved to sometime in 2023. We’ll know for sure once an official announcement has been made.
