For those trying to log in to X (formerly Twitter(, or see that your timeline isn’t updating, it’s not just you, as the social platform is down on January 16, 2026.

This is the first time the platform went down this year, though we’re assuming it won’t be the last.

Over on Downdetector, a flood of reports has come in, and we can confirm, based on our testing, that the platform is experiencing issues worldwide. This applies to both the browser version and the app, and is affecting the timeline, replies and more.
