With No New Confirmed Features for NBA 2K25 Last-Gen, Gamer Seeks to Recreate Roster in NBA 2K24 to Skip Latest Version
While most gamers might think that yearly iteration of sports games don’t bring anything new to the table other than roster updates, that’s not really the case. Most of the time, there are updated graphics, new gameplay mechanics, and the like that warrants buying the latest version of the sports sim. In the case of NBA 2K25, it will feature new gameplay enhancements for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions of the game, which won’t be present in the last-gen (PS4, Xbox One, Switch) versions.
One gamer decided to not buy NBA 2K25 and instead, is opting to recreate NBA 2K25’s roster into NBA 2K24. Reddit user WeaksideDefender decided to share his idea in the NBA 2K subreddit in case anyone is in the same boat as they are.
Hello everyone. As you know, NBA 2K brings almost nothing new for last gen. As a PS4 user myself, I decided not to buy NBA 2K25 and completely updated 2K24. If there are others like me, I would like to share this roster for them.
- Ages increased by one year, contracts decreased by one year. So you can start a MyLeague.
- New free agent signings, contracts and jersey numbers.
- Similar faces for the 2024 draft class players.
- Realistic tendencies and shooting forms for the 2024 draft class.
- More realistic potentials, reduced player overalls.
- Revised badges, tendencies, peaks and coaching styles.

This thread has some of the images of the work done so far. Needless to say, a lot of NBA 2K players are in support of this move. I mean, if the biggest gameplay addition is just a roster update, then yeah, this makes a lot of sense. And it’s not like the NBA 2K24 servers will be nuked once NBA 2K25 is out.
