Xbox, Halo to Celebrate 20th Anniversary This November

Xbox 20th anniversary

It’s been 20 years since Xbox stormed the marketplaces. Clad in its iconic green and striking logo, the Xbox has broken through the gaming industry, where it continuously builds a platform that’s well-loved by so many. This November 15, the all-competitive console will celebrate its 20th anniversary, along with Halo, as they share this milestone with thousands to millions of its fans.

When the Xbox came into play, it timed its release with the introduction to the Halo Franchise. An iconic game and a legend in itself, this genre-breaking shooter gave birth to memes, movies, comics, and any form of content that the game could interject in. This year will also mark the release of the upcoming Halo Infinite.

Xbox Live’s Director of Programming Larry Hyrb, “Major Nelson,” writes his dedication in the coming celebration of the anniversary, as he thanks fans, gamers, and developers alike for their contribution to what has made Xbox it is today.

Thanks to game creators and players like you, we have a greater variety of games and diverse characters  – with more worlds to explore, stories to tell, heroes and villains to meet, and achievements to unlock – in the 7 thousand games that have been released across the Xbox platform.

The year-long celebration introduces 20-year marked merchandise available on Xbox Gear Shop, along with free Xbox and Halo-themed wallpapers. Registration is also open for the Xbox Fanfest in October, where it will hold “exclusive sweepstakes, FanFest gear, and digital experiences.”
