Xbox System Update for September 7

Xbox owners, Microsoft has rolled out an Xbox system update for September 7, and this is for a slew of new features! This will show up as Xbox update 10.0.22621.1836, and houses the party chat noise suppression feature alongside other nifty additions. We have the complete patch notes available below.

Xbox System Update for September 7 Patch Notes | Xbox Update 10.0.22621.1836 Patch Notes:

Party chat noise suppression:

We’ve added noise suppression to parties on Xbox Series X|S consoles to help remove unwanted noises like gamepad clicks, breathing, and background noise from your parties.

If you want to keep some types of background noise in your parties, like music, you can also turn noise suppression off. Just open the guide, scroll to Parties & chats, and select Options. There you can enable or disable noise suppression.

Jump into a game from your friends’ shared captures:

Now the friends you share your game clips and screenshots with can not only watch your captures, they can start playing right away on their mobile device or PC with cloud gaming. (Some games require Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for cloud gaming.)

Just tap Play and start playing directly in a browser, straight from a shared clip.

Known Issues (as of Sept. 2022):

Controllers:

We’ve received reports that some players’ controllers are randomly losing sync or disconnecting from the console. If you encounter this behavior, be sure to report this issue after reconnecting.

Home:

The icon for disc-based titles isn’t appearing on the dashboard for some players.

Games:

Some players may encounter an issue where games fail to launch after using some streaming apps. If you experience this, please use Report a Problem to submit feedback.

Workaround: Reboot the console and games should launch normally.

HDMI-CEC:

Some players have reported that HDMI-CEC isn’t working correctly. Ensure that your TV supports HDMI-CEC and that it’s enabled. If the issue persists, report the problem.

My games & apps:

Some games might appear with an incorrect “Trial” tag in My games & apps.

TV display:

Some players have reported that the console is displaying at the incorrect resolution when first turned on. If you encounter this behavior, submit feedback via Report a Problem and be sure to include the make/model of your TV/display in the description. After submitting your feedback, follow the workaround below.

Workaround: Restarting the console via the Power menu (holding down the Xbox button displays the Power menu) should resolve the behaviour.

That’s about it. If you have a PlayStation console, Sony has rolled out a firmware update for both the PS5 and PS4, which adds in new features as well.
