While XDefiant’s release is slated for sometime this summer, there’s still no firm release date available for the game just yet. If you’re hoping for the game to be “shadow dropped” — a term used when something is released unexpectedly or by surprise, don’t since that won’t be happening.
This was confirmed by XDefiant Producer Mark Rubin over on Twitter where he mentioned that an XDefiant shadow drop won’t be happening, as they would want players to be able to pre-load the game and such.
I feel it too. I wish it were coming out this weekend but we have to abide by the process. And we won't be shadow dropping it so you will have time to preload, etc.
