Apex Legends Update 2.69

The Apex Legends new update for October 8 is now live on all platforms, which ushers in new gameplay fixes related to Mirage, Crypto and more. Those on last-gen consoles will see this as Apex Legends update 2.69, while those gaming on PS5/Xbox Series X|S will see this as patch version 1.000.083). In addition to the patch notes, Respawn also addressed concerns about global drop rates as well.

Apex Legends Update 2.69 | Apex Legends Update 1.000.083 Patch Notes:

Here’s what got changed per Respawn:

  • Mirage not being cloaked after he’s been revived
  • Crypto being visible when using Off the Grid while wearing specific skins
  • Players who hit a white screen when launching the game will now receive an error message telling them why
  • Resolved an issue causing Bot Royale stats to display inaccurately
  • A visual glitch caused by Pathfinder grappling to the edge of objects higher than him
  • Fixed certain Amped Knockout challenges whose names did not match their completion requirements

In terms of the drop rates, here’s a rundown of what got changed according to Respawn:

  • We have not adjusted our rarity drop rates and are now providing greater detail about cosmetic item drop rates.
  • The published drop rates are the lowest possible rates based on the inventory of a player who doesn’t own any Apex Legends cosmetics. An active player’s drop rates will be higher than any of the listed values based on what items they have in their inventory because of the duplicate protection.
  • Apex Packs guarantee that players won’t receive duplicate cosmetic items. This duplicate protection results in a variable drop rate where a player’s odds of obtaining a cosmetic item increases as they unlock more of that item type. Since every player has different odds of obtaining each cosmetic item based on their individual inventory of unlocked items, it would be impossible to dynamically show every player’s drop rate for every item. That’s why we are disclosing the lowest possible drop rate that assumes that no cosmetic items are owned (i.e. a new player’s account).
  • Heirloom Shards are still guaranteed if you do not earn them after opening 500 Apex Packs. Heirloom Shard drop rates were previously listed as “less than 1%”, but we can now share a more detailed percentage of 0.045%.

You can read more about the drop rate changes and explanation here.

But still no fix on the cheating. If cheating isn’t fixed then this is a waste of an update. so many bigger problems than what they actually fix. for starters, terrible guns for ground loot. they are always duplicated. The matchmaking is a high key feature in a game and still yet to be fixed. also, the points you get in ranked is rigged. -55rp entry for platinum is outrageous. won’t ever forget the past few games I’ve played. Getting 2-3 kills and making -35rp at ring 4 with 10 squads left in platinum is stupid. lower the squad amount!! get rid of the dog water team deathmatch and bring back arenas. 4,000 kill tracker for basically nothing now. all I played was arenas!! I hope they see this because they are hiring idiots it seems like.
