Ark Survival Ascended Companion Bug and Severe Lag Fixed in Update 1.071.015
Players who experienced a companion glitch in Ark Survival Ascended should have this fixed with today’s update, which also handles a few other things. Console players will see the patch appear as Ark Survival Ascended update 1.071.015 (PC v71.15), and this should be a small download on all platforms.

v71.15 – Minor version for Servers – 09/08/2025
- Fixed an issue that caused your companion to dig in and vanish when exiting companion mode.
- Fixed an issue causing severe lag with specific milestones related to gaining XP while mounted on a creature.
- Fixed an exploit.
- Fixed a server crash.
There was also a patch released a few days ago, which housed the following fixes:
v71.13 – Minor version for Servers and Clients (v71.11) – 09/05/2025
- Reduced Megalodon spawns also for Clients.
- Fixed Babyfy in the Megalab.
- Fixed Freemium mods sometimes not registering as owned if you don’t visit the mod browser.
- Fixed several server crashes.
- Fixed an exploit.
