Astro Bot Update 1.019 Drops a Week Before a Major State of Play
It’s been 11 months since Team Asobi last pushed out a content update for Astro Bot, and that was the “Challenge” DLC. While the studio has remained mum on whether we’re getting more free content updates or not, players will see that a title update is available for the game now.
Players will see Astro Bot update 1.019 (complete version 1.019.000) available for download now, and once again, this is another super-small download.
This is a mysterious new download as Team Asobi hasn’t mentioned anything about any upcoming content.
Astro Bot Receives New Title Update in 2026
This is Astro Bot’s first title update of the year, and truth be told, we weren’t expecting any to be released given the game’s relatively bug-free.
For now, Team Asobi hasn’t said anything about today’s update, and we doubt we’ll see anything from the devs.
The interesting (?) thing about the update is, it’s been released a week before what seems to be a major State of Play from Sony. Airing on June 2, this State of Play not only promises a deeper look at Marvel’s Wolverine, but it will be 60 minutes of “news and announcements’ as well.
Also of note, this State of Play will even have a physical viewing, which is something we haven’t seen in a very long time, and suggests this is more than your standard show where one game is the focus and we get a bunch of smaller titles to fill the event out.
Perhaps Team Asobi will trigger the update once Sony has announced it officially? That wouldn’t be the first time something like this happened. There’s also the possibility that this is for an in-game Astro Bot 2 announcement, and once it’s announced at the show, Sony will trigger a banner of some sort in the game. Given how the game managed to outsell every 3D platformer in the last decade outside of Nintendo’s Mario franchise, I assume a sequel is a no-brainer thing to greenlight at Sony.
For those who are trying the game out after today’s update, leave a comment if you notice anything that got changed or added.
