Kojima Productions has once again released a new update for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach without any fanfare whatsoever. PS5 gamers will see this download appear as Death Stranding 2 update 1.012 (complete version 1.012.000), and this should be another small download.

Read on for the known issues and other community-related concerns about the latest Hideo Kojima game.

Death Stranding 2 Update 1.008

Unfortunately, Kojima Productions or the support studio which worked on Death Stranding 2 have commented on today’s patch. However, thanks to the community, we know at least one thing that got fixed, and it’s a big one.

In case you didn’t know, since launch, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach suffered through a bug in regards to the Motherhood facility. Long story short: . This bug stops star progression in the Motherhood facility, no matter how much cargo you deliver.

Well, this is one issue that has been resolved in today’s update. This means that those who are trying to Platinum the game, can now do so.

However, today’s patch still has a lot of problems left unresolved, which includes:

  • Orders not appearing for some preppers
  • PCC items are still missing player IDs
  • PS5 overheating on map (for some)
  • Sound issue wherein it gets super loud during combat (quick fix is to pause/unpause to normalize audio levels)
  • VR melee combat is still bugged
  • Enemies bugging out and AI issues. Mostly happens in the Bandit camp in the middle of Mexico. What happens is the enemy sees something on the other side of the river they want to investigate, so they start crossing but encounter a red area that’s too deep, and instead of turning back or going around they just stand there in the water trying and repeatedly failing to enter the red zone.
  • Whistling animation still looks like Sam is talking (not sure if this will ever get fixed, but it is funny to see).

So far, Kojima Productions hasn’t mentioned anything about an upcoming update or when these issues will be fixed. If we get a proper changelog today, we’ll update the article with the info.

For those that notice a specific bug that has been fixed, leave a comment and let us know.
