DOOM: The Dark Ages DLC Released via Update 1.013
About the Revelations DLC:
Wounded and betrayed, the Slayer is thrust into a merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths and forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally. He must ascend from the prison of his mind and fight an abomination of the gods to set his followers on the path to freedom.
- New levels and deeper puzzles
- New demons
- New mysteries
- New weapon – Chain Spear
Alongside the DLC, the Ripatorium 3.0 update is also out and this adds:
- Deeper customization
- Improved pass code generation
- Personal preset options in the game’s customizable arena challenge mode
If the player owns the Revelations DLC, they will also gain three new additional maps, demons, and fully upgraded new weapons to use in the Ripatorium upon completing the story.
However, there’s already a bug spotted this early on.
Players have encountered issues with the Chain Spear tutorial mission, wherein it asks the player to press the ?? button, but that button doesn’t exist. This is affecting gamers on all platforms, and unfortunately, resetting the controls does not work, and even moving forward until you walk off the cliff doesn’t work either.
There are also reports of stuttering affecting players with the new DLC.
Not only that, but those on PS5, if you’re stuck on the splash page of the new DLC where it says it’s available and players press “OK,” they are reverted to the menu screen. Players will need tro purchase it on the PlayStation add-on tab on the homescreen to actually purchase it.
Chances are, we’ll be receiving a hotfix to resolve some of these issues, and if we hear anything about it, we’ll let our readers know.
In other news related to id Software’s parent company Bethesda, the company is said to be facing a major overhaul and will be focusing on key franchises such as DOOM moving forward.
