Fortnite Update 4.49 Released, as XP Adjustments Are Implemented

Fortnite Update 4.49

Just a few days ago, Epic Games launched the big Chapter 6 Season 1 patch for Fortnite. While that ushered in a good number of new content, it also brought in bugs. Today, Epic Games has released Fortnite update 4.49 on December 4, and this is accompanied by XP changes made.

Fortnite Update 4.49 Is Now Available for Download

Epic has not mentioned any specific when it comes to patch notes, but the developers did relay the following XP changes:

  • Daily Bonus Goal rewards are now higher.
  • LEGO Fortnite Quest XP has been fixed (now rewarding 25,000 instead of 700).
  • Increased weekly XP earnable in Save The World, LEGO Fortnite, Reload, and Creative experiences.

Alongside that, we’ve also included the known issues that’s currently being looked (via the official Fortnite Trello board). Note that the ones under “Fixed in Next Game Update” should be the ones included in today’s patch.

GENERAL TOP ISSUES

PC Crash With Hardware Ray Tracing

Workaround: To resolve this issue, please delete the cache file found at :

Fixed in Future Game Update

  • Low-resolution textures on Nintendo Switch

In Development

  • Nintendo Switch players encountering storage space issues
  • The “Ready Up” button is not present on the post-match screen.
  • Incorrect Emote order in the Emote Wheel.
  • Splitscreen Issue when player 2 logs out.
  • Videos in the Lobby playing with every launch on Amazon Luna.

Investigating

  • Built-In Emotes may not appear in the “My Locker Loadout” tab.
  • Players cannot close the emote wheel without selecting an emote
  • Unable to change the style of Outfits with customizable elements.
  • Built-In Emotes do not play in Creative / UEFN Experiences.
  • Jam Emotes may not function properly in Team Rumble or work in Battle Royale after a Team Rumble match.

BATTLE ROYALE/RELOAD TOP ISSUES

Fixed in Future Game Update

  • If used on a slope, Sprites may slide down and not heal the players.
  • Players may get stuck in “Toggle Walk” mode at times.
  • The Ranked Ronin Back Bling’s unlockable ranked styles aren’t working.

In Development

  • Players are pushed at high speed when jumping while underneath stairs.
  • Can’t edit structures while a DBNO (knocked) player is nearby.

Investigating

  • Void Oni Mask teleport may fail if the player is swimming.
  • Some Outfits may change their rarity when scrolling in the Locker.
  • Players may float briefly after using Typhoon Blade’s Cyclone Slash upon exiting a vehicle.

LEGO FORTNITE TOP ISSUES

Fixed in Future Game Update

  • Missing rewards in LEGO Pass
  • Swivels might break when touched while on a moving vehicle.
  • Tome Bookshelf may appear slightly transparent once placed.

In Development

  • Players may get stuck in a cannon if its damaged or falls into water while operating it.
  • Consumable buff timers can be overwritten when eating another consumable with a buff
  • There is no indication of which direction some furniture is being placed
  • The Swag Shot emote is not correctly translating on the Chalk Board
  • Cleared areas in the Rebel Outpost don’t complete

Investigating

  • NPCs might spawn in foundations or terrain.
  • Stuck when exiting the Crusher.
  • Villagers exploring with players may destroy structures while trying to harvest.
  • Bottom of HUD can disappear after using macrobinoculars.

ROCKET RACING TOP ISSUES

In Development

  • Locker’s Vehicles – SUV/Truck and Sports Cars sections changes to a different background color when navigating through the cosmetics options
  • Vehicle appears blurry at start of race

Investigating

Players may observe extremely bright lights.

FORTNITE FESTIVAL TOP ISSUES

Fixed in Future Game Update

  • Player 2, 3 or 4 unable to take control as Player 1.
  • Jam Track preview continues to play outside the Music Library.

In Development

  • Jam Stage Mixers – Players need to equip Jam Tracks before hopping into the Jam Stage to access songs and start making music.

Investigating

  • Audio Stuttering On Switch After Extended Play
