Gears of War: Reloaded New Update sept. 3

The Coalition has released a new Gears of War: Reloaded update today, September 3, on all platforms, and this is a minor patch for the remaster.

For console gamers, you’ll see this appear as Gears of War: Reloaded update 1.006.001, which clocks in at just 339 MB. Unfortunately, the issues that surfaced when the game launched still persists and this patch didn’t resolve some of the major ones that are plaguing the game.

Gears of War: Reloaded’s New Update 1.006.001 Out Now as a Minor Patch

Update: Hours after the patch has been pushed out, The Coalition has finally released the changelog, and it adjusts the Gnasher!

Gnasher weapon tuning

Based on community feedback, we’ve tuned the Gnasher:

  • Reduced power at mid-range:
Damage modifications: medium-range damage reduced by 15% – does not affect close range damage.
  • Bullet spread not as tight when aiming down sights:
The Shotgun Pellet Spread when aiming down sights is now less tight when targeting compared to the launch version, but it is still tighter than the beta.

Crash & Stability Improvements

Several rare crashes and bugs have been fixed across all platforms, making your experience smoother.

Performance & Visuals

Ultrawide 21:9 monitors supported in benchmark mode Support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) on Xbox Series X|S in campaign mode.

Original Story:

For now, The Coalition has not said anything about today’s update. That could change within the day, though.

In the meantime, here are the known issues that were not fixed with today’s patch:

  • Achievements/Trophies not tracking properly
  • Gnasher remains untouched
  • Visual issues with shadows
  • Crashing issues (mainly on PC)

The patch could very well be for multiplayer matchmaking stability, as this was an issue regarding the game as recently as the other day, though The Coalition did say they have resolved it.

Once the developers release the official patch notes, we’ll let our readers know, though I wouldn’t expect much given the major issues remain untouched.

Before the game’s release, the developers released a day-one update that addressed a few key issues.

Technical issues aside, the core gameplay is still fun, though a bit date, which is something we noted in our review.
