Gears of War: Reloaded Day One Update 1.004.001 Slots in Stability Improvements and Bug Fixes
While Xbox Series X|S gamers got Helldivers 2 from Sony today, Microsoft is returning the favor with Gears of War: Reloaded, which is out now on consoles and PC.
Same as with almost every game with an online component these days, there is a day one update to download, and this brings stability improvements and bug fixes.
Those who bought the game via disc, you’ll need to update the game client to Gears of War: Reloaded update version 1.004.001, while those who bought the game digitally should have already download the file alongside the base game.

According to The Coalition, the day one update delivers “crucial stability and bug fixes to ensure a smoother gameplay experience.” This also fixes a low frame rate issue when using the DualSense controller on PC.
- Technical bugs have also been addressed such as on-screen text errors, input responsiveness, and more.
- Multiple crash fixes and incremental performance enhancements across PC and console platforms
- Resolved numerous gameplay, UI, and localization bugs – from controller input quirks to incorrect in-game text – for a smoother experience.
- Minor feature tweaks like improved handheld device support switching (mouse & keyboard mode) and refined settings behavior enhance overall usability.
- Consoles: The game now properly handles cases where in-game global power saving is disabled but certain modes (campaign/versus) tried to use power-save features.
- Consoles: Fix for fire texture and animation isn’t shown properly in Campaign.
- PC: Fixed a persistent low-frame-rate issue when connecting a DualSense® controller to a PC.
Handheld: Fixed mouse input issues on certain handheld PCs – the mouse sensitivity on handheld devices has been corrected to respond consistently.
In addition to that, The Coalition also revealed a host of launch improvements based on feedback from the Gears of War: Reloaded closed beta.

- You can now clearly see what platform other players are on via platform icon.
- Linked accounts are easier to spot, so you’ll know who you can add as cross-platform friends.

Will we see Gears of War: E-Day released on PS5 simultaneously as the Xbox and PC versions? Given Microsoft’s new multiplatform strategy, I wouldn’t be surprised if it did. Our recent report confirmed the game is in development for the PS5 alongside State of Decay 3.
