Battlefield 6 Weapon Camos Surface and There’s Nothing Shiny or Ridiculous
DICE has already commented that soldier skins in Battlefield 6 will be “grounded” and stay authentic to the franchise, and based on our early look at the soldier skins in the game, the studio has stayed true to its word.
However, it seems this also applies to soldier skins as well, based on the weapon camos unearthed on the latest build of Battlefield 6 in BF Labs.
Similar to any other datamined information, we must include a disclaimer stating that this is unofficial content, and as such, there is a chance it could be altered or removed from the final version of the game entirely. That said, most of what’s spotted is usually spot-on so far.
Battlefield 6 Weapon Camos Unearthed and They Fit With the Game’s Aesthetic
The unearthed camos come from the latest build of Battlefield 6 in Battlefield Labs, and for the most part, there’s nothing neon or anything too loud that might give the impression that your soldier is carrying a watergun instead of an actual lethal weapon. Check out the images unearthed below (via BattlefieldNet, Battlefield Wire), which is :
Curious how they look on weapons? Wonder no more, as we have pics of those too.
While what was unearthed seemed OK, don’t forget, there’s nothing stopping DICE from adding more weapon skins that break immersion in the future. Personally, I am fine with weapon skins looking a bit more casual, but nothing too gaudy.
Will DICE Add Gold Camos to Battlefield 6?
While DICE hasn’t said anything about gold camos/golden weapons in Battlefield 6, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it appear in the game as some sort of high-level progression for a weapon. Now, before anyone cries about it copying Call of Duty, it’s worth noting that gold weapon skins have been introduced in the franchise as early as Battlefield Hardline, and was also something players can earn in Battlefield V.
What made this interesting in BFV was how you had to earn each part of a gun’s gold part, and each part had a unique challenge attached to it, which made obtaining it extra hard, and in turn, more special.
If you want more Battlefield 6 content to chew on, check out an overview of the gadgets, throwables, and other info about the game, which was also unearthed via Battlefield Labs.
Let’s hope DICE continues with this more grounded look for cosmetics. If they do, I wouldn’t say no to spending some money on the premium Battle Pass as a sign of support.
Are you OK with the weapon camos unearthed so far? Do you want something a lot more colorful? Maybe something more muted? Leave a comment and let us know your thoughts.
Battlefield 6 will be released on Oct. 10 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
