Battlefield 6 Fan-Made UI and HUD Shows DICE How It Should Be Done
While the Battlefield 6 open beta showed us that DICE managed to do a lot of things right, it also had a fair few missteps that we’re hoping gets sorted out when the game releases in October.
Chief among these changes are the UI (User Interface), and even the HUD (Heads Up Display). Needless to say, the UI needs work. While what we have in the beta is serviceable, it’s somewhat cumbersome and not particularly user-friendly. It also doens’t look pretty either, truth be told.
The Battlefield community has taken note of this, and some have taken matters into their own hands.
Battlefield 6 UI and HUD Remade and It Looks Way Better
Over on Reddit, user Oninyourfly remade the Battlefield 6 UI, where each game mode is listed, and selecting it leads to other filters about it. Not only that, but each class menu loadout icon has been changed too, and it provides a more streamlined approach.
Check it out in action:
The only thing that’s a concern there is that this makes choosing the Closed Weapons playlist a lot harder. If it’s buried underneath a menu or two and requires more button presses, you can bet it won’t be noticed by most caual players who just want to hit a button and play.
If the UI being remade isn’t enough, YouTuber MoiDawg also changed the HUD as well, and this is a vast improvement in making it less cluttered, and even provides more info than what we have currently.
MoiDawg explained it’s been remade to be similar to Battlefield 4 wherein there are only two areas where players can get info, which means there’s less visual clutter on-screen.
The changes made included:
- Tickets / Obj moved back on top of the minimap
- Compass collapsed into the minimap
- Points / damage centered where it’s not distracting (on your vehicle / hands instead of adding to explosions and in-game clutter)
- Points expanded in a feed with individual numbers (ie. Kill = 100, Capturing = 10) with the total for what you’ve just done combined next to it with a larger number (2 kills + 1 capture tick = 210)
- Reduced the size of the players in your squad, removed the extra spacing and removed their health bars (flashing repair or health icons next to the name instead)
- Class Abilities removed from above your weapon info, moved on top of your squad info, and expanded like Field Upgrades so you see what you’ve accomplished and what you still have to unlock
- De-cluttering the majority of your screen now allows room at the top for combat ribbons, medals, unlocks and other big achievements
- Objective diamonds and circles on the minimap stay inside the box instead of spilling over halfway out if you’re out of range of them
DICE hasn’t said anything regarding the UI or HUD, and whether we’ll see changes made based on beta feedback. If I had to hazard a guess, it’s the UI that’s probably getting an adjustment or two, although that’s not yet certain.
In other Battlefield 6 news, DICE has mentioned a tip on how to make the game feel like past Battlefield games with a simple change in your sensitivity values. Speaking of values, a recent study reveals that, contrary to popular perception, Battlefield 6’s movement isn’t particularly fast and is even one of the slowest in the series compared to other entries.
Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

That hud looks horrible. It’s not cod or Fortnite. We don’t need a dopamine shots at every turn and bloated screen.
Cod players complain about bf6 too much.
That’s literally the battlefield 4 hud. The new hud sucks. The screen is too cluttered
Looks like crap, it is good the way it is.
Dice simple is better
They need to just copy battlefield 2s medals , classes, bring back those maps and just update it with the graphics and other systems . I want commanders back and squad leaders actually meaning something. And all those medals. 2042’s medal system sucks. They over simplified them to the same 4 every round.
