Madden NFL 26 New Update 1.006 Sprints Out on Sept. 4
Electronic Arts has silently released Madden NFL 26 new update 1.006 (complete version 01.006.000), and for those expecting this patch to update the roster, we have some bad news for you, as the teams have not been updated to reflect the current season.
Given the massive patch we got a week ago that introduces new Playbooks, Stadiums and whatnot, don’t expect this patch to be content-filled, as it’s more for fixes than anything else.
Madden NFL 26 New Update Version 1.006.000 on Sept. 4 Released Without Much Fanfare
Update: While EA has not revealed any patch notes, the dev team did confirm that the Week 1 rosters are now live and that all 32 teams have been updated.
This is something EA has triggered on their side, so the update earlier should have rolled out the data for gamers, with the developers simply needing to turn it on when the time came, which is now, since the NFL season has officially kicked off.
Original Story:
After waiting literally hours after maintenance to see if the devs will acknowledge the update, sadly, it was all for naught. As aside from the server maintenance earlier today, and the free play weekend kicking off this week, the dev team has been silent about today’s patch download.
Some of the issues that still persist even after this patch include:
- Favorite Plays Playbook duplicate bug
- Favorites Folder still freezes
- Lag out in menus and locks up the game (consoles and PC)
- H2H issues still persist
- Body morphing still broken
We’re unsure whether today’s patch fixes some of the issues that we noted from last week’s folow-up patch to Title Update 3 dropped, which include:
- Using the “Hurry Up” offense won’t let the player hike the ball, and there is a bug that one of your receivers just stands.
- Crossplay issues
- Game crashing or won’t launch
- Xbox Series X and PS5 turns off while playing
- Trophies/Achievements bugged (Passing Yards, Rushing Yards as some of the known bugged achievements)
- Desync issues in every MUT game
- Create-a-Player or Prospect body type isn’t changing
- Game freezes when switching play calling tabs to “Favorites”
- Franchise mode freezing issues
We’ve reached out to EA to seek any statement on what today’s patch fixed or if it’s more for stability than anything else. If we get a response or if the dev team posts any official patch notes, expect the article to be updated.
If you can confirm that some of the bugs listed above have been fixed, leave a comment and let us know.

Don’t mention it! Here to help. 🙂 Updated the story, as this patch updated the roster! 😀
The dang coordinators getting fired from user teams in franchise needs fixed asap
What about the issues that make it unplayable? I can’t play a game that substitutes backup QBs as receivers on every formation. That started happening late in my franchise 1st season and refuse to play again until basic glitches like this and many others are fixed. This is the worst, glitch-ridden Madden game I’ve ever encountered. I’m 55 years old and was among the original Madden game players. This game has taken a complete nosedive from what John Madden himself intended.
Good to see they’re aren’t interested in fixing the DT issue in Franchise. It’s only a huge issue that’s preventing me from playing at all. Aknowled the issue and ignore it.
