Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update 1.005.001 Fixes Fresh Start Suit; Check Out the Before & After Comparison
In case you didn’t know, last week, Insomniac Games released a new patch for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that added new suits such as the Fresh Start outfit inspired by the Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, and one from Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which is Sony’s first-party fighting game featuring Marvel characters.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go exactly as planned, as one of the suits was bugged, and players could see shimmering and other issues that shouldn’t happen.
Today, Insomniac released Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update 1.005.001, which should fix those issues. Check out what was fixed, and even a side-by-side comparison of how the suit looked before and after today’s update.

While Insomniac Games has yet to issue any patch notes, the Fresh Start suit being bugged is something almost everyone noticed right away when it was rolled out. This should be fixed in today’s title update.

Thanks to today’s update, the Fresh Start Suit no longer has that sheen on the brick pattern on the red portion, so it looks less rubbery. The reds are also a bit deeper, and the emoting eyes are also fixed in Photo Mode.
Another thing added today was the battle-damaged version, which would happen as Spidey got into combat and took a beating (basically how the other suits were). It’s weird that Insomniac forgot to include this in the first place, but hey, it’s fixed now.

Based on what we know, that’s about it for the fixes implemented today. Other things added from the previous patch included support for enhanced PSSR for the PS5 Pro, and Power Saver mode was added too, but no issues cropped up for either, as far as we’re aware.
Speaking of PS5 Pro, Sony is beta-testing a new system update, and it should be released into the wild soon.
Also worth noting, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently discounted as part of the PlayStation Store Summer Sale refresh.
