NBA 2K26 New Update 1.009 for v2.2 Brings Technical Fixes on Consoles
Following the release of Season 2 for NBA 2K26 two weeks ago, Visual Concepts has released a new patch for the current-gen (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) versions of the game today.
Players will see this as NBA 2K26 updater 1.009 (complete version 1.009.000), and this is a minor update that includes no front-facing changes.
Expect a small download for this update, which is unusual for the game.

The lone changelog from Visual Concepts mentions, “Today’s update on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S includes optimizations to improve overall stability. No changes have been made to on-court gameplay.”
As it states, don’t expect any front-facing changes that affect gameplay.
The 2.1 patch was also released before the start of Season 2, and this included the following fixes:
- Returned ball collision sensitivity on escape dribble moves to pre-Patch 2.0 levels based on community feedback. The improved responsiveness for well-timed, intentional steal attempts remains.
- Updated the shot meter to properly reflect the green window bonuses of the Poster Machine Takeover Ability.
- Resolved a reported hang that could occur when attempting to load a MyCAREER save.
- Fixed a hang following a press conference in the Out of Bounds story.
No word yet if PC and last-gen NBA 2K26 players will get today’s stability patch, but if we see it released, expect it here on MP1st.
