Following the release of Nioh 3’s Hell Rising DLC the other day, Team Ninja has pushed out a game update for the PS5 version to fix a bug.

Players will see this as Nioh 3 update 2.000.020, and this is to resolve a save data issue that would trigger for players who haven’t applied the DLC update.

For the full explanation of this patch, read on.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where, if the player created save data for The Fall of Edo Castle or the Battle Scrolls Basic Controls or Expanded Controls before applying Update 2.00.01, then loading that save data after applying Update 2.00.01 would cause the Guardian Spirits in their possession to load incorrectly, which made it impossible to traverse Spirit Veins.
    • Applying the update will resolve this issue and cause the Guardian Spirits to load correctly.
    • The Guardian Spirit Level of Murakumo (Ninja Style) will not load correctly, so we have changed the Guardian Spirit Level of Murakumo (Ninja Style) to a set level for all players who load the affected save data.

That’s about it for this patch. There are no known balance changes, which is not surprising given the DLC update applied a large list of changes affecting combat

Once another patch is released, we’ll let our readers know.
