No Man’s Sky Update 5.25 Flies Out, Enables Cross-Save and Cloud Saving
Out of nowhere, Hello Games has just pushed a significant patch for No Man’s Sky that’s available now on all platforms. Players can now download No Man’s Sky update 5.25 (PS5/XSX version shows up as 5.025), and this enables not only cloud saving, but even cross-save progression among different device families! This means that you can now transfer your save progress from PS4 to Xbox Series X|S, or whichever platform you want.
This is a significant patch, that also saw its version jump from 5.22 to 5.25 in one go, which rarely happens.
No Man’s Sky Update 5.25 Enables Cross-Save Feature
Update: Hello Games has released the official patch notes, and also confirmed that this patch also brings in PS5 Pro support.
No Man’s Sky PS5 Pro Support Features:
PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) allows for incredible upscaling to provide crisp 4K resolution at 60fps. No Man’s Sky will also be an early supporter of 8k resolution, with the universe looking incredible in 8K at 30fps.
As well as a much sharper resolution at higher framerates, the increased power of the PlayStation 5 Pro has enabled us to ramp up the graphical quality across the board. Players on PlayStation 5 Pro will see improved lighting, with ultra quality reflections and higher quality ambient occlusion in all modes. Explore the most beautiful and detailed alien worlds No Man’s Sky has to offer, for the first time on console.
The Normandy Returns

No Man’s Sky Cross-Save Info
Hello Games has yet to release the notes, which is the case when the update is a big one, and not just about bug fixes. However, the studio did release info about cross-saves.
No Man’s Sky Travellers can now continue their journey through the universe on multiple platforms with the introduction of cross-save. Whether you play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, or Mac, you can share your progress across multiple devices..
Follow the instructions here to enable cross-saves on your chosen platforms.
Then simply launch No Man’s Sky on one of your connected platforms. Your most recent save will automatically be uploaded to the server, and made available for download on your other connected platforms. You can then elect to upload more saves, up to a maximum of 5.
Do I have to connect more than one platform account to use cross-save?
No – you can connect a single account. This allows you to, for example, transfer saves between a PS4 and a PS5 logged into the same PSN account.
How many saves can I upload?
You can store up to 5 saves in cross-platform storage.
How do I choose which saves to upload?
On any connected platform, click on the empty cloud icon Cloud Icon Empty next to a local save to upload it.
How do I access my uploaded saves from another platform?
On any connected platform, open the in-game Cross-Save Manager from the save selection screen, then choose a save to download to local storage.
What happens if there’s a save conflict?
If the game detects a mismatch between the size and timestamp of a saved file, you will be asked to choose which version of the save to keep.
How do I remove a save from cross-platform storage?
You can click on the ticked cloud icon next to a local save to remove it from cross-platform storage. You can also remove saves from cross-platform storage using the in-game Cross-Save Manager.
I’ve connected my accounts on the website, but I still can’t access cross-save in No Man’s Sky
Double check the status of the cross-save toggles on the account connection page for your current platform.
Note that this feature is currently in beta, and has a limited number of spaces available. If you see a message in-game about the beta being full, you will need to wait for more spaces to open up. The game will notify you when a space has been made available for you.
