Overwatch 2 Summer Games Update Live on July 14 as Patch 4.32/1.000.096

Blizzard has released the annual Summer Games update for Overwatch 2, and it’s live today, July 14. Alongside the event, there are a lot of hero changes included in today’s download, which gamers will see as Overwatch 2 update 4.32/1.000.096.

The patch also continues the Excavation Initiative event, Junkrat’s Loot Hunt (July 31 to August 3), and more.

Summer Games 2026

Summer Games 2026 is LIVE, bringing your favorite beach brawls back to the arcade! Blast into Lucioball, crank things up with Lucioball Remix, or serve up some fun in Winston’s Beach Volleyball while completing challenges to earn sizzling summertime loot. Soak up the sun and earn a shining victory in Summer Games 2026, July 14 – 30!

Junkrat’s Loot Hunt

Junkrat’s Loot Hunt returns from July 31 – August 3 for a reward-fueled weekend blast! Every match you play pushes you closer to Loot Boxes, with flexible challenges that let you go all-in or pace yourself. Plus, progress won’t reset, there’s no daily pressure, and no nonsense… just explosions, and piles of loot to unbox!

Excavation Initiative

The Excavation Initiative continues, rewarding you for doing what you’d already be doing: playing Overwatch. Throughout the rest of the season, you’ll earn Loot Boxes simply by logging in, completing challenges, winning games, and staying active week after week. The more you play, the more opportunities you’ll have to uncover Base, Epic, and Legendary Loot Boxes packed with rewards.

Tank

  • Doomfist
    • Nerf: Empowered Rocket Punch’s collateral hitbox reduced.
    • Collateral range bonus reduced 75% → 40%.
    • Collateral radius bonus reduced 50% → 40%.
  • Junker Queen
    • Buff: Commanding Shout cooldown reduced.
    • 5v5: 12s → 10s
    • 6v6: 15s → 13s
  • Mauga
    • Nerf: Single Chainguns become less accurate over sustained fire.
    • Max spread increased 1 → 1.5.
    • Spread now ramps up over 30 shots instead of instantly.
    • Dual-wield accuracy unchanged.
  • Ramattra
    • Buff: Ravenous Vortex explosion damage doubled 15 → 30.
    • Buff: Nemesis Form Block cooldown reduced 1s → 0.5s, allowing faster blocking after punches.
  • Sigma
    • Nerf: Shield health reduced 275 → 250.
    • Nerf: Hyper Regeneration perk damage conversion reduced 40% → 30%.

    • Nerf: Silver Bullet perk projectile size reduced 0.17 → 0.07, making empowered shots harder to hit.
  • Freja
    • Buff: Revdraw Crossbow fire rate increased 5 → 5.5.
    • Buff: Take Aim recovery reduced 0.5s → 0.4s.
    • Buff: Explosion delay reduced 1s → 0.8s.
  • Reaper
    • Buff: Soul Globe pickup radius increased 5m → 8m.
    • Buff: Lifesteal increased 25% → 30%.
  • Shion
    • Buff: Execution recovery reduced 0.4s → 0.3s.
    • Nerf: Joyride impact damage reduced 60 → 30.
  • Sierra
    • Adjustment:
      • Anchor Drone cooldown 12s → 11s.
      • Duration 10s → 9s.
      • Health 80 → 125.
  • Vendetta
    • Buff: Palatine Fang overhead swing bonus range increased 2.0m → 2.5m.
  • Venture
    • Buff: Clobber cooldown/recovery reduced 1.6s → 1.2s.

  • Ana
    • Buff: Biotic Grenade damage and healing increased 75 → 90.
  • Brigitte
    • Adjustment:
      • Inspire now provides 12 instant healing on activation.
      • Healing over time reduced 60 → 45.
  • Kiriko
    • Nerf: Healing Ofuda healing per talisman reduced 13 → 12.
  • Lúcio
    • Buff: Sonic Amplifier damage increased 20 → 22 per projectile.

Overwatch 2 update 4.28

General Changes

  • Clash capture speed now increased up to 300% as time elapses (Up from 200%).
  • Rate at which Clash capture speed increases increased to 2% every 1s (Up from 1%).

Tank

Junker Queen

  • Royal Bullets (Nerf)
    • Damage reduced 25 → 20.
  • Bow Down (Nerf)
    • Duration reduced 2s → 1.5s.

Damage

Cassidy

  • Gunslinger Grit (Buff)
    • Heal per reloaded bullet increased 2% → 2.5%.

Junkrat

  • Zip Grease (Buff)
    • Bonus damage to airborne targets increased 10% → 25%.

Mei

  • Slowball (Nerf)
    • Increased projectile hitbox removed.
  • Frost Armor (Nerf)
    • Damage converted to Armor reduced 5% → 3%.

Reaper

  • Accelerated Reaping (Buff)
    • Attack Speed per stack increased 4% → 5%.
  • Dauntless Draught (Nerf)
    • Wraith Form duration bonus reduced 50% → 33%.

Torbjörn

  • Hammer Throw
    • Added VFX trail for better visibility.
  • Blacksmith (Buff)
    • Healing increased from 75% → 100% of Hammer damage.
  • Come Get Yer Armor (Nerf)
    • Armor scaling reduced 20% → 15% of max health.
  • Anchor Bolts (Nerf)
    • Ability Power reduced 15% → 10%.

Support

Juno

  • Blink Boosts (Adjustment)
    • Cooldown reduction now scales multiplicatively with other CDR, reducing synergy with heavy cooldown builds.

Kiriko

  • Clone Conjuration (Buff)
    • Clone effectiveness increased (damage reduction improved from 75% reduced → 65% reduced).
  • Keen Kunai (Buff)
    • Critical-hit cooldown reduction increased 15% → 20%.

Lúcio

  • Rhythm Rail (Buff)
    • Damage increased 75% → 100%.
  • Crowd Pleaser (Buff)
    • Healing increased 33% → 40% of Soundwave damage.

Mercy

  • Distortion (Nerf)
    • Max overhealth reduced 30% → 25%.

Wuyang

  • Buff
    • Currency gained from damage and healing increased 8.33%.

Zenyatta

  • Enlightenment (Nerf)
    • Healing from damage reduced 40% → 30%.
  • Inner Peace (Nerf)
    • Healing effectiveness reduced (75% reduced → 80% reduced).

Item Changes

  • Volskaya Ordnance (Buff)
    • Bonus damage per 100 bonus health increased 5% → 6%.
  • Gadget Maximizer (Buff)
    • Gadget cooldown reduction increased 25% → 35%.
  • Three Tap Tommygun (Major Nerf)
    • Added 0.5s internal cooldown between applications.
    • Damage reduced 5% → 3% of target’s current health.
    • Damage duration reduced 5s → 3s.
  • Vortex Vial (Buff)
    • Cost reduced 9,500 → 9,000.
    • Cooldown reduced 25s → 15s.

Custom Game Updates

  • Added an infinite Joyride option for Shion under Settings > Heroes > Shion.

Bug Fixes

General

  • Fixed an issue causing Shion’s Hero Challenges to not be sorted alphabetically.
  • Fixed an issue with Mauga where his reticle spread could become inaccurate when swapping between his guns.
  • Fixed an issue where Sierra’s Trailblazer drone could be interrupted by stun abilities.
  • Fixed several text bugs in the Advanced Info Panel.

Stadium

  • Fixed an issue where Junker Queen’s Bloodhound Mask wasn’t properly granting bonus Weapon Power from Wounds.
  • Fixed an issue where Doomfist’s Friendly Fissure caused Meteor Strike to deal full damage regardless of distance.
  • Fixed an issue where Cassidy’s Gunslinger Grit was triggering before the reload had completed.
  • Fixed an issue where critically healing an ally after dealing Ability Damage with Cybervenom would apply Healing Reduction to allies.
  • Fixed an issue where Lucio’s Hip Hop wasn’t properly working with Wall Jump on Release option toggled off.
  • Fixed an issue where Mei’s Frosting wasn’t properly granting Ultimate Charge.
  • Fixed an issue where Ramattra’s Barrier wasn’t scaling with Ability Power.
  • Fixed an issue where Mei’s Slowball would visually appear as though it was always the empowered projectile if the Power was sold while buff was active.
  • Fixed an issue where Kiriko’s Leaf on the Wind would target sometimes target enemies.
  • In a previous update, fixed an issue where Moira’s Spectral Beam had an incorrect effectiveness value.
