Overwatch 2 Update 3.89 Shoots Out for Widowmaker Gun Sound Fix; Known Issues Listed
With the release of Classic Mode on Overwatch 2 last week, not only did Blizzard roll out a return of the 6v6 gameplay, but it also accidentally snuck in a bug as well. Blizzard has today released Overwatch 2 update 3.89, and as far as we’re aware, this patch is only for last-gen consoles (PS4/Xbox One).
This minor update should fix the issue where Widowmaker’s gun doesn’t make any sound when fired. Alongside that we’ve included the known current issues the dev team is working on at the moment as well.
Overwatch 2 Update 3.89 Widowmaker’s Gun Sound Bug Fixed Per Blizzard
Over on the official Blizzard forums, Game Producer OWMatt made the following announcement in response to a gamer having issues with Widowmaker’s gun audio being bugged,”Hello! I’m sorry this issue happened. If you are playing on PS4, please make sure you’ve installed the latest OW2 client build 132578. That should resolve this issue, but please let me know if you’re still experiencing it after updating to the latest client build.”
As for the known current issues, this is accurate as of November 14, 2024.
Overwatch 2 Known Current Issues
- We are aware of an issue that has locked the Cassidy and Brigitte hero mastery courses. These courses will return in a future update.
- We are investigating an issue where weapon sounds will not play for some heroes.
Note that if an issue or bug isn’t mentioned in the list, it doesn’t mean Blizzard isn’t working on it, but these are top priority for the studio for now. Again, the patch isn’t available on PC and current-gen platforms, though if that changes, we’ll be sure to update the article with the info.
