PUBG Console Update 1.008 Released to Fix Audio Issues
PUBG Corp. has released a console update for the battle royale game, and it’s live now on both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Players will see the download appear as PUBG update 1.008 (complete version 1.008.000), and this should be a small download.
Don’t expect any new content from this title update, as this is purely aimed at fixing issues tied to the battle royale.
PUBG PS5, Xbox Series Updated to Fix Audio Bug
According to the devs, “An additional hotfix was implemented today at 05:12 UTC to fix an issue where sound was playing abnormally on PlayStation/XBOX platform after the 39.1 update.”
Update 39.1 was released last week on consoles and draped Erangel in ice, as well as introduced some quality-of-life improvements that the community has been asking for for years.
If you haven’t logged into the game this month, Update 39.1 included the following majopr additions:
- Erangel: Subzero – During a clandestine experiment, a catastrophic failure sent multiple Tythonic Satellites crashing down onto Erangel. The impact ruptured the Satellites and released cryogenic gas, which soon spread across the island. The Blue Zone was not spared from its influence, and Erangel’s climate began to warp under the growing chill. The crash sites froze over, and the island soon found itself gripped by sudden, severe changes in weather.
- BZ Grenade –A freezing effect has been added to the Blue Zone sphere generated upon throwing. This effect functions the same way as that of the Blue Zone.
- New Weapon: BZ Grenade Launcher – Introducing a single-shot, break-open launcher found only in Erangel: Subzero. Use the BZ Grenade Launcher to pressure enemies or block their vision!
- Weather – Experience completely different weather conditions caused by the climate change.
There are also spawn changes, a major gun balance pass and a lot more.
While we’re not expecting anything major from the devs until January, don’t be surprised to see a fix or two get released before the holidays.
