Silent Hill: Townfall’s First Update Released on PC as Version 1.3.1
Silent Hill: Townfall was released last week on September 24, and while it is a single-player experience, that doesn’t mean it won’t get game updates.
Today, the first horror game has received its first update — at least on PC. Players will see Silent Hill: Townfall update 1.3.1 available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
No word yet on when consoles will receive their first update, but it should be soon.
Silent Hill: Townfall’s First PC Update Is a Super Minor One
The bug fixes for today are:
- Reduced gameplay stuttering caused by shader precompilation issues.
Yep, that’s about it. However, there are a fair amount of known issues that players have reported on.
| Issue | Status | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Framerate drops | 🟡 Still reported | Players have reported inconsistent frame rates and sudden drops in certain areas, even on capable PCs. (Notebookcheck) |
| Crashes/freezes on PC | 🟡 Reported | Some players have experienced crashes and short freezes. These appear to be primarily player-reported rather than a specifically documented bug in the latest official patch notes. (Sportskeeda Tech) |
| AMD Radeon crashes | 🟡 Reported | Radeon users have reported increased crashes, particularly with ray tracing enabled. Disabling RT has been reported as a workaround. (Sportskeeda Tech) |
| Controller double-input | 🟡 Reported | Some PC players have encountered controllers registering inputs twice. Disabling Steam Input has been reported as a workaround. (Sportskeeda Tech) |
| Puzzle/progression bugs | 🟠 Reported | Some players have encountered glitches that can prevent puzzles from progressing. Restarting from the previous checkpoint has been reported as a workaround. (Sportskeeda Tech) |
| Black-screen during a cutscene | 🟡 Reported | At least one review reported a black screen occurring during an important cutscene. (Tom’s Guide) |
| DLC not unlocking | ✅ Fixed | Some Deluxe Edition/pre-purchase DLC initially failed to unlock. Konami says this was resolved server-side; restarting the game and Steam was the recommended fix. (Steam Community) |
| The Weight stealth sections | 🟠 Developer acknowledged | This isn’t a technical bug, but the developer has acknowledged complaints about The Weight’s stealth encounters and says gameplay balancing is being worked on. (VGC) |
