- Menu Narration now instructs players on how to activate Party Voice Chat.
- Communication Wheels statements are read aloud to party members while Text-To-Speech (TTS) is activated.
- Voice chat is translated into text on screen while Speech-To-Text (STTT) is activated.
NEW FEATURES
Co-op Mode: Own the Lot
Own the Lot pushes up to four players to complete as many reqs as possible while racing against the clock. Team up with friends to take on shared challenges of scaling difficulty and own the streets of San Van together, earning Tix in the process.
Own the Lot also includes special season-long Tasks that grant rewards. For more information about Own the Lot, visit our Season 2 article.
Developer Note: Own the Lot is tuned for party play. We don’t recommend trying to complete these challenges on your own, and in fact, it will be quite difficult to do as a solo player.
Flip Tricks
- Impossible Flips
- Front Foot Impossible Flips
- Nollie Impossible Flips
- Nollie Back Foot Impossible Flips
- All Impossible Flips can also be performed as Held, Late, and from Grinds and Manuals
Handplant Tricks
- 14 New Handplant Variants have been added, making for 16 total.
- Handplants, including One-Foot, No-Foot, and Tweaked Handplants can also be performed in Fakie stance.
- Handplants can now be held for different durations based on how long you hold the input.
- Multiple Handplant variants can now be chained back-to-back within the same plant.
Challenges
A bevy of Challenges spread across the Casper Hotel Rooftop, Road Tunnel, Building Roof Patio, and Canal Buildings, and the rest of San Van are powersliding into Season 2. We’ve made big improvements to how we deliver and refresh Seasonal Challenges based on community feedback—Seasonal Challenges will still drop each week, but we’ll also reset them twice over the season, giving you more opportunities to earn Tix.
Each individual challenge won’t give quite as many Tix, but over the season you’ll be able to earn more than twice the Tix from Seasonal Challenges, not including the Tix you can also earn from the new Own the Lots. Plus, the amount of challenges dropping per week in Season 2 has been increased. For a full breakdown of these changes, including how many more Tix you’ll earn each season, visit our Season 2 article.
Missions
Point of Impossibility will bring you underground on a hunt for the place where the Impossible was first landed in San Van. The Mission is unlocked after completion of Shingo’s Secret Scoring Tips mission in Tour 2. Completing Point of Impossibility rewards you with 500 Tix and three new Props.
Coping Inspector will take you to the rooftops for some Handplant practice at a handful of the newly added rooftop spots, and unlocks after completion of The Gift of Grab mission in Tour 3. Completing Coping Inspector rewards you with 500 Tix, the Coping Inspector title, and a Rooftop Fast Travel Point.
Tasks
- Rotation Changes:
- Weekly Tasks will last three weeks, giving you time to catch up on any missed Tasks.
- Seasonal Tasks are now Monthly Tasks.
- Developer’s Note: This change was made to Seasonal Tasks to inject more variety and rewards into your experience.
- Auto-claim Task rewards
- Now, if you forget to manually claim your Task rewards, they will automatically appear within 24 hours of when the Task ended as a login message.
New Character Customization Options
- 5 hair, 2 facial hair, and 3 eye shape customization options have been added to the character creator.
Advanced Edit Mode For Replay Editor
- An Advanced Edit Mode has been added to the Replay Editor with these additional options:
- Trim replay
- Add, edit, and navigate keyframes, interpolating between camera types and camera targets.
- Adjust camera type, target, field of view, tilt, roll, and framing for each keyframe.
- Export settings have been moved to the Advanced Edit Mode.
Party Voice Chat
- You can now activate Party Voice Chat from the Party Settings, and converse with their party members using a microphone.
- Whomever is currently speaking will have their name displayed on screen with the appropriate mic status icons.
- You can choose to mute individual party members and not hear their voice audio. This only affects you, not the rest of the party.
Party Beacons
- Party Up? is now available as a statement in the Communications Wheel. Using this statement drops a beacon in the world that other players can interact with to join your party.
- Your beacon is automatically cleared when the party is full or if you join another party.
skate.Pass
Developer’s Note: Community conversations have made it clear that you want more ways to play, earn Tix, and express yourself through cosmetics. In Season 1 the skate.pass was designed to help you earn the items you wanted most. But we learned that many of you enjoy the feeling of completing the skate.Pass from start to finish.
For Season 2, we’re aiming to support both approaches. We’ve tuned the amount of Tix required to unlock rewards pages on the skate.Pass. You will also find we added a bit more SVB for you to collect this time around. We’re also actively considering additional places where Tix can be exchanged outside the skate.Pass, such as at Extravert. All in all, the Season 2 skate.Pass will have tighter scaling to promote quicker progression through the earlier pages of the skate.Pass.
Legacy skate.Pass
- Legacy skate.Pass lets you keep progressing and claiming rewards from the premium pass you bought last season while the new season is live. Only your most recent previous premium skate.pass is eligible. Any progress you make from earning Tix will be applied to both your Season 1 Legacy skate.Pass and your Season 2 skate.Pass.
News
- Read up on what’s new in skate. News will display when you enter the game, or can be accessed at any time from the main menu.
Vee
- Reduced frequency and adjusted triggers for Gameplay Vee dialogue.
Developer’s Note: We heard your feedback that Vee was commenting a bit too often during free skate. We’ve adjusted both the frequency and timing of Vee’s lines to create a quieter experience. And if you prefer to do your tricks in total silence, the option to fully mute Vee while free skating is still available.
