The Sims 4 New Update 2.30 Fixes Freezing Issues
Maxis has released the latest The Sims 4 update across all platforms on February 19, and this is another minor update that aims to resolve some key issues.
Console gamers will see this as The Sims 4 update 2.30, and this hands out more fixes to the Royalty & Legacy DLC.

Bug Fixes
Base Game / Multipack
- [EA Forums] Resolved an issue found in some save files where the game would freeze when Sims are getting married.
- Family Tree portraits will no longer overlap after a Spouse’s death when there’s a Secret Child.
- [EA Forums] Resolved an issue in some saves where missing connections were appearing in the Family Tree and Sims portraits were not highlighted when selected.
- [EA Forums] Resolved an issue where the game would stop responding when clicking on a Sim from the Family Tree in some save files.
That’s about it for today’s patch. There was also one released last week that ushered in fixes as well, which we’ve included for reference.
Base Game / Multipack
Live Mode
- [EA Forums] Stair railings will no longer be missing on premade lots, Gallery Lots, and player-created lots.
- Resolved an issue where Distant Relative and Distant Relative-In-Law relationship labels were showing up inconsistently.
- Resolved an issue where newly adopted Sims failed to appear in the Family Tree after exceeding a certain number of children.
- The same Sim will no longer show up as a part of different generations in the Family Tree.
