While Magnum Studios and Nexon originally announced The First Descendant beta will be out this August 22, that has changed, and the new The First Descendant open beta date starts September 19 and will run until Sept. 25 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC (and yes, it will support crossplay).

Those who want to take part in it, you’ll just need to register here. According to Nexon, new features and improvements from previous beta player feedback have been implemented, which you can read about below.

  • New module (previously called rune) system

  • Improved jump motions

  • Improved gun sound effects

• Updated Narratives and Prologue

  • New additional storyline

  • A mysterious new map (The Sterile Land)

• New Gameplay Content

  • 11 playable Descendants and two ultimate Descendants

  • 11 new ultimate weapons each with unique effects

  • 8 Void Intercept Battle bosses

  • 2 new Void Intercept Battle maps

  • New cosmetic system

  • Improved world missions

• New Open Beta Rewards 

  • Available only to those who participate in the Open Beta

  • All participants will receive a limited-edition social motion.

  • Reach Descendant level 20 to receive a back-attachment customization item at launch

The First Descendant is a next-gen free-to-play third-person PvE co-op action RPG shooter launching with crossplay across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), PlayStation®4 (PS4™), and PC via Steam. Developed using Unreal Engine 5.2, players become a Descendant whose mission is to combat against alien invaders – The Vulgus who crossed dimensions over 100 years ago and brought with them the devastating Colossi and destruction– for the survival of humanity and to protect Albion and the continent of Ingris.
