The show is kind of boring, and the game is getting pretty stale. Hopefully this dLC comes soon.

      & its dead all ready.

Peaks at 2,000 JUST on Steam, so it doesn’t seem all that dead. A lot of people pre-ordered/bought from vendors other than Steam.

Really disappointing game, honestly pissed that I spent $60 on it. Any time you pay for a game and then it uses a FTP model anyway you know you’re getting shafted hard…

F2P-esque models are understandable for MMOs though, and Defiance’s F2P-esque model is really rather limited, it’s just customization and shortcuts (You already get a good amount of customization too.). The reason it’s understandable is that they have to pay for their servers, unlike games like COD or BF (Dedicated servers that are hosted by other people, or P2P, though they have a minimal amount that they have to host.) which have to pay a very small amount compared to having to host a MMO server.

I can understand paying for cosmetics and things like that in a paid game, but the fact that defiance launched with pathetically little content makes paying another $10 for content that hands down should have been in the game at launch is just stupid. I paid for an extra skin or two on BLOPS2 because even though I paid my $60 I got a lot of enjoyment out of the game. With Defiance, I paid $60 based on trailers and initial reviews thinking it would be at least a remotely fleshed out game and I was left utterly disappointed. The side quests are literally all almost identical, they didn’t even bother with unique voice acting or anything. Every side quest has the same exact generic voice over: “Hey I got something for someone with your special talents”, after the third time I heard it I was absolutely pissed that I paid money for the game. I can understand a massive, successful game that was at least worth it’s $60 using some FTP goodies so those who love the game can express their joy. But Defiance was nothing but a turd out of the box, and now they’re just rubbing it in.

Brandon, it is a rather good game. Despite your OPINION, many, many gamers thoroughly enjoy it. The micro-transactions in game are purely cosmetic and most of the outfits you can purchase also have a free version that you can unlock through grinding for pursuits. I am nearing the end of my third playthrough and I am nowhere near bored with it. Perhaps you just have such a hatred for the game because you are garbage at it? Similar to all the people who cry on Call of Duty about the “campers” or “cheaters” (code names for people who are better than them). In the end, there are thousands upon thousands of satisfied customers playing Defiance. I am sorry that you suck at it, but God man, quit all the whining and crying like a little girl. Do you think you are the first person that ever bought a game they didn’t like? Put on your big girl pants and get over it.

For contrast, Neverwinter just went into OPEN BETA with exponentially more content and depth than Defiance launched with, and probably more than Defiance plus all of their garbage DLC will ever hope to touch. I honestly expect so much more from the studio that produced Rift, literally never going to touch another one of their games after this.
