GTA Online Patch 1.04 Now Available, Fixes Bugs and Nerfs Most Missions’ Payout By Half

As Rockstar promised earlier this month players can now expect to be greeted in GTA Online with the option to download patch 1.04 on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms as of today. The patch is said to address the following issues:

Patch 1.04 Notes

  • Fixes numerous issues that were causing vehicle loss and/or loss of vehicle mods
  • Fixes an issue where the incorrect car is replaced when choosing to replace a car in a full garage
  • Fixes an exploit allowing players to sell the same vehicle multiple times
  • Fixes an issue that caused personal vehicles to be duplicated
  • Fixes an issue where some players were unable to pay utility bills on an owned apartment or house
  • Fixes an issue where players were not getting Crew invites in-game
  • Fixes an issue where the starting point for the tutorial race was not appearing
  • Fixes issues with joining Jobs from within a player-owned garage
  • Fixes issues with players getting stuck while using playlists
  • Fixes additional issues causing black screens, long load times, and players getting stuck in the sky cam
  • Adds details in the UI to clarify that characters created while Rockstar cloud is unavailable are temporary (non-saved)
  • Adds changes to the character creator to make better-looking default characters with the “random” option
  • Players now only lose a maximum of 500 GTA$ upon death in Freemode

Unfortunately, and also not listed in the notes above, this patch appears to nerf the pay rate of a majority of missions in half, making buying that car/apartment you had your eyes on that much more of a grind, unless of course you’re willing to fork over some cash to buy some GTA$.

For the full list of effected missions, the folks over at GTAforums have compiled a comprehensive list of what missions’ pay rates have been cut:

  • “Stick up the Stickup Crew”
  • “Sinking Feeling”
  • “Water the Vineyard”
  • “Stocks and Scares”
  • “Mixed up with Coke”
  • “Blow Up II”
  • “Chasers II”
  • “Flood in the LS River”
  • “Check Out Time”
  • “Gassed Up”
  • “Editor and Thief”
  • “Crank up the Volume”
  • “Rooftop Rumble”
  • “War and Pieces”
  • “Violent Duct”
  • “Judging the Jury”

Also according to the forums, this patch seems to have added a malicious bug which will delete your entire garage if you happen to get disconnected from the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. This bug can also be triggered by accepting any mission invites from your friends.

We’ll let you know ASAP if we hear from Rockstar regarding the tweaks.
