Watch Dogs – No You Can’t Own A Dog, But You Can Enjoy 8-Player Freeroam

Creative director at Ubisoft, Jonathan Morin, provides more details on Ubisoft’s espionage, open-world third-person shooter Watch Dogs after the game’s big announcement earlier today.

First and for most, for all you asking, the game will not feature any sort of dog that may be either watching Aiden throughout his journey of revenge or may at one point become his companion.

However, Morin did confirm the rumors that the game would sport an 8-players free roam option in the open world at any given time. No exact details whether this is pertaining to a game mode, or just the max amount of players.

Be on the look out tomorrow, as the team plans on holding a Q&A via Twitch TV.

Watch Dogs launches on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC on May 27th.

  • Just saying

I wonder what they added to the game in these 6 months after delaying it because of GTA V.

I think ubisoft didnt want to throw it against AC4

Thanks for linking that David, I read the whole article and it seems like Ubisoft delayed it for a good reason.

        • Mike

Whats the reason? Sorry dont feel like reading, got a head ache.

          • Grif

Haha lol, basically Ubisoft held it back because they weren’t happy of the games’ quality and how it ran. They improved on different things like AI, Hacking etc.

I was excited about this game, but everything changed when “The division” nation attacked.

    • Kyle Jackson

This will be out in May, The Division won’t be out until next year, so get both you pauper 😀

      • Alvaro Munive

Hm you’re right, other problem with WD, its that I’m afraid that they become a every year launch like AC. But that’s only my personal thoughts.

8 players? I hope its more, that’s not next gen enough! -sarcasm-

    • jj16802

Don’t worry, there’s probably AI to make up for the numbers. 😛

    • Katana67

Seriously though, this could benefit from a more robust free-roam player count.

    • falahcod

Would you like to see 64 hackers in one session?!

Ps4 needs to start stepping its games up Im sure they will but right now the selection sucks and the graphics on the games out are not much better than last gen. The Division, Metal Gear ,whatever Naughty Dog comes out with and to an extent Infamous Second son will start to show what the next gen really looks like.

    • James Mulhall

This is how every consoles life starts out.. games are still being made for last-gen and ported to next-gen, we won’t see a full move to next-gen for another 1-2 years.

Too bad, everybody know you gotta have a dog in your game for it to be good.
    10/10 would not buy.
