The Crew Launch Delayed To December, Gets Another Closed Console Beta in November

Ubisoft and Ivory Tower have announced today the delay of their open-world next-gen racer, The Crew.

Originally positioned to launch on November 11 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, The Crew will now release worldwide on December 2 and will also be getting a second console beta sometime in November.

Creative Director Julian Gerighty said in a press release, “Our philosophy remains to deliver the best game possible. We’re all committed to delivering a revolutionary experience in the driving genre and we can’t wait for The Crew to be in the hands of the players.”

This is the second delay to hit the Crew, which Ivory Tower and Ubisoft originally intended to launch in early 2014. Still, the decision is likely a good one, considering both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Assassin’s Creed Unity both land on November 11 as well. That, and many racing enthusiasts may still have their hands full with Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 2 and Evolution Studios’ Driveclub, two stellar-looking racing titles to hit this fall.

Stay tuned for more details on The Crew’s second Xbox One and PlayStation 4 beta, arriving next month.
