Microsoft Opening Xbox Mobile Game Store in July

Xbox Mobile Game Store

While the latest round of news out of Microsoft’s Xbox division hasn’t been a good one since it was all about closing a few studios within Bethesda, it seems the Xbox brand is expanding somewhat, as an Xbox mobile game store is opening this coming July.

This was confirmed by President of Xbox Sarah Bond in a recent interview. According to Bond, “In July, we are going to be launching our mobile store experience. We’re going to start actually by bringing our own first-party portfolio to that. So you’re going to see games like Candy Crush show up in that experience, games like Minecraft. And then we’re going to extend that capability to partners, so they can also take advantage of it and have a true cross-platform gaming-centric mobile experience.”

Bond adds that they will start on the web, as this will allow the company to have it accessible on all countries independent of policies of closed ecosystem stores, and after which, they will extend from there.

Given how strong a foothold Apple and Google’s mobile stores have on consumers, it’ll be interesting to see if Microsoft’s Xbox mobile store can somehow pry some of that away for their own slice of the pie.

Are you willing to give Xbox’s own mobile storefront a try when it launches this July? Sound off and lets u know.

Have you ever seen anyone fall and start sliding over a cliff. They begin to drop everything they are carrying and start crabbing anything they think will stop the slide over the edge. If they have any rope or a grappling hook they will sling that out desperately trying to snag anything to slow or halt their demise. This is Xbox. It took longer that the Zune and the Windows phone to die but it is expiring. Xbox becomes Windows gaming. The only device they are planning on releasing is a Windows based device similar to the Rog Ally. It will go nowhere. Good riddance Microsoft.

Haha, another Sony Fanboy with his dellusional fantasies. Microsoft is beyond rich, Sony looks like a homeless bum in comparison with the money microsoft is sitting on. I’m not even taking sides since I don’t even use any XBox console anymore nor any PlayStation console anymore (PC gaming is the only way to game; mods, trainers, piracy, lower prices, fan games, save sharing, save modding, emulation, porn games, private servers, massive multiple-decades long backwards compatibility, etc…, you get NONE of those things on a gaming console.) It’s just pathetic to keep reading sony fanboy’s fantasies of microsoft going under, they can’t even realize that the only thing sony playstation has going for it is that they pay for exclusives (and in case you are slow, it means that they are paying to force you to use playstation,) which really means nothing since most ps exclusives end up on PC so you still don’t have to be a slave to sony’s anti-competition behavior if you don’t want to, but yet the dummies that support this behavior (aka sony fanboys) are too stupid to see this or have such a low self-esteem, that they not only tolerate their freedom of choice being taken away, they actually embrace it…Like a mentally abused guy wanting to stay with the abusive woman. lol dumb@$$es
