Xbox Insider Believes “All” Xbox First-Party Games Coming to PlayStation; Xbox to Be More Steam-like in the Future

Remember the rumors that surfaced back in February on how Microsoft was planning on releasing Xbox-exclusive games like Starfield and even Indiana Jones and The Great Circle on competing platforms (ie. PlayStation)? While Microsoft debunked that and instead announced four first-party games headed to competing platforms, it seems the conversation around Microsoft and the Xbox brand going multiplatform just won’t die down.

Windows Central’s Jez Corden (who has made predictions correctly in the past), has now mentioned how he believes that “all” Xbox first-party games like Halo, Forza are headed to PlayStation! In the XB2 Discord channel (spotted by ResetEra’s Tommi813), Corden mentions how in the future, Xbox will likely be more “Steam-like” in the sense that games will be more affordable, more sales, and will be more open to devs.

As for the future of Xbox hardware, Corden mentions how he thinks it’ll be more niche like the Steam Deck, and future Xbox consoles will be for fans who want it. In addition to that, Corden also believes that the next Xbox will also side-load Steam. Allegedly, Microsoft might go this route since they don’t think they will “ever grow in hardware.” Corden adds, “Nobody wanted to give Xbox a chance, so this is what they get with a Sony monopoly.”

Now, keep in mind, this is just one man’s opinion, and it’s not to be taken as any sort of leak or confirmation of Xbox’s plans. Still, Corden has been pretty on-the-nose in the past about Xbox’s future, and has even leaked some things accurately himself, so we thought it might be worth sharing.

If Xbox really were to change their strategy this significantly, I personally think it’d be to their benefit. While they’ve still seen some success with their own console line, their lack of compelling exclusives has been a talking point for years now. In recent years, Xbox seems to have changed their tune to be more about bringing gaming to as many people as possible, and that’s a respectable goal. This could be their way of “falling on the sword” in their competition against Sony and taking the big step of sharing their platform-specific titles.

It remains to be seen whether Xbox will ever actually take the actions that Corden thinks they will. Still, we’ll be sure to let our readers know the second they do.

In other Xbox news, the Xbox Games Showcase is set for June 9, and will be followed by a Call of Duty Direct.

I’ve been waiting for Fable to get ported for PlayStation, but i doubt it ever will.
