Those looking to purchase a PlayStation Vita 2000 – the latest model of Sony’s handheld PlayStation device – will be able to get their hands on it much sooner than the May 31 placeholder seen on retailers like Amazon.

Recently, both Amazon and Gamestop have updated the release date for the long awaited Vita 2000 model to May 6.

This also means that the previously announced Borderlands 2 Vita bundle will be available at the same date, according to both Amazon and Gamestop. Additionally it appears that the stand alone version of Borderlands 2 on the Vita will arrive on May 13, a week later, according to Amazon.

Neither Gearbox nor 2k have made any official announcement so far as to when the Borderlands 2 limited edition will be available on Vita, however, so take the recently updated release date with a grain of salt.
