Doom Gets An Official Launch Date In Gory New Campaign Trailer

Sticking to their previously announced “Spring 2016” launch window, id Software and Bethesda Softworks have slapped an official launch date on their upcoming reboot of the classic old-school shooter, Doom.

Doom launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this May 13th (Friday the 13th), which is made clear at the end of the title’s latest campaign trailer that is, predictably, as gory as ever — exactly the way we like it.

As you can tell, Doom’s campaign is a return to old-school mechanics in hellish environments with over-the-top demon monsters as bad guys. At the same time, it looks like one of the genre’s most beloved titles is getting a proper next-gen makeover with even more brutality and action than ever before. Now, let’s see some more of the multiplayer!

You can pre-order Doom on the game’s official website, or even secure the Collector’s Edition which comes with a 12” tall Revenant statue. Pre-ordering also secures access to the Demon Multiplayer Pack, which includes:

  • One Unique and Customizable Demon-themed armor set with three skin variations
  • Six metallic paint colors (*can be applied to weapons or armor)
  • Three id® logo patterns (*can be applied to weapons and armor)
  • Six Hack Modules (*instantly unlocked consumable perks used during MP matches)
