Battlefield 2042 to Allow Up to 64 AI Soldiers in Conquest & Breakthrough, Cannot Be Turned Off

battlefield 2041

Remember when we reported that Battlefield 2042 would feature AI soldiers (bots) to fill 128-player servers in case there’s not enough players in that region and platform? It looks like more details about that have surfaced, and it also confirms that this feature cannot be turned off.

EA has confirmed to The Verge that up to 64 AI soldiers can be deployed on game modes Conquest and Breakthrough, and again, this is to help ensure servers are full of bodies for people to shoot at. Currently, there are no plans to turn this feature off, and understandably, real-life players (humans) will take priority, so there’s a big possiblity that players won’t even come across any bot at all — especially during peak hours.

While this might sound like a very controversial decision, it might be the right move, as filling up 128-player servers is no easy feat, especially when you consider random disconnects, leavers, griefers, AFKers, and the like. The bigger concern here is: will the AI soldiers be any good? Just be cannon fodder or act like good teammates in the sense that they’ll revive, provide ammo and do stuff that actual gamers are supposed to do? We’ll know for sure once we get some hands-on time with the game’s beta sometime this year.
