NBA 2K24 Update 1.016 Released on PS5, Xbox Series and PC for Season 8 Data

Ahead of the new season for NBA 2K24, Visual Concepts has pushed out NBA 2K24 update 1.016 for current-gen (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) platforms and PC. This will usher in the Season 8 data, though the new season won’t officially start until June 25, Friday.

NBA 2K24 Update 1.016 Patch Notes for June 24:

As expected, Visual Concepts has not released the official patch notes just yet. Chances are, the devs won’t push it out until a day before the season starts, which is par for the course for the studio. Given the Boston Celtics just won the NBA Finals, and are the newly crowned kings of the NBA, expect Season 8 to somehow feature the team in some capacity.

As for gameplay-related changes, realistically speaking, we aren’t expecting any given the past few patches didn’t really do anything to tune any gameplay mechanics, or fix any bugs.

So far, the devs haven’t said anything about the upcoming season except to remind players to use their 2XP coins before they expire:
