To the surprise of no one, Marvel Rivals is a massive hit, as the free-to-play title saw over 10 million players within the first 72 hours of release. Talk about impressive!

Marvel Rivals’ Heroes and Villians Unite for the Launch of the Game

Whether you enjoy playing as the always angriest and strongest Avenger, Hulk, or love being the goddess of Death, Hel, your participation in the opening days of Marvel Rivals has seen the game already become one of the biggest free-to-play launches on consoles and PC. Just how big of a launch was it? NetEase has confirmed that in the first three days, Marvel Rivals garnered over 10 million players!

It’s quite an incredible feat the team pulled off, though we aren’t surprised to see these numbers, considering the popularity of the Marvel IP and how many enjoyed the previous closed beta tests. I guess you could say that anyone saw this success coming, but at the same time, in a year where we’ve seen a few multiplayer games tank, whether upon release or later on, there’s always some uncertainty regarding potentially being a hit.

Now, whether NetEase can continue its momentum in the coming months is anyone’s guess. As long as it maintains good communication with the fans and has a good release schedule for content drops, we expect Marvel Rivals will be here for the long haul.

Marvel Rivals is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles.

But it’s f2p, would the player count be that high if it wasn’t free. After awhile the casual players will fade away and only the serious players will remain.
