Katsuhiro Harada is considered one of the video game industry’s legends, mainly known for his work on the Tekken franchise at Bandai Namco. He joined the studio in 1994 and served there until the end of last year.

The legend left the studio last December in search of other opportunities. While he said that he would share more about his next project in the coming time, Katsuhiro Harada has just announced his own new game development studio with SNK, yes, the same company behind the Fatal Fury, King of Fighters (and countless other fighting game brands) franchises, has now landed Harada.

Just now, SNK officially announced the establishment of VS Studio SNK, a newly founded game development studio led by industry veteran Katsuhiro Harada. SNK has been investing in the studio, and it is expected to become a consolidated subsidiary of the company.

Talking about his new chapter, Harada has stated that their new studio will aim to deliver the best gaming experience to players worldwide. He further stated, “VS Studio aspires to be a studio that continues to take on such challenges, and we are looking for new team members who share our vision. Please look forward to the future of VS Studio.”

No further announcements have been made about any of the studio’s projects so far. We will keep an eye on it and will update as soon as we hear anything from the newly formed studio. If we had to hazard a guess, Harada is there to bring his 3D fighting game expertise to the table. Perhaps we’ll see a proper Tekke competitor from SNK in the near future? We wouldn’t be surprised if so.

Nonetheless, what do you think about this? Are you excited about Katsuhiro Harada’s return to the industry? Let us know in the comments.
