Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Receives First Post-Release Update on October 21

Per Konami, here’s what’s new: “We have released an update to address an issue where the game may fail to launch and a black screen shows for High Refresh Rate Monitors. While we expect this update to improve the issue, it may still occur in certain environments. We are continuing to work towards a full resolution as soon as possible.

We sincerely apologize for the continued inconvenience caused to players who have been waiting to play the game.”

For those experiencing issues, fret not! Konami is aware of it, and we have compiled the ones that are acknowledged by the devs.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Known Issues as of October 21, 2026

[XBOX Series X|S / XBOX on PC] Save data may not load correctly when switching between Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. (Posted on October 21, 2026)

We are currently working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Important Information Until a Fix Is Available
If this issue occurs, save data may not appear on the platform you have switched to. If you create a new save while your existing save data is not displayed, your original save data may be overwritten and cannot be recovered.
To avoid the risk of data loss, please do not create a new save if your existing save data is missing after switching platforms.
Please continue playing on your current platform and avoid switching between XBOX Series X|S and XBOX on PC, until a fix is available.

Regarding the Upcoming Fix
A fix for this is planned to be released for both XBOX Series X|S and XBOX on PC. Once both platforms have been updated to the latest version, cross-save functionality can be used as normal.
If your save data is displayed correctly on the save selection screen after updating, you may resume switching between platforms.
We will inform once the update has been made. If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact Customer Support.

[Steam® / XBOX on PC] Game may fail to launch when V-Sync is turned OFF and FPS is set to Unlimited (Posted on October 14, 2026)

If you encounter this issue, please try the following:
1. Change your monitor refresh rate in Windows to below 60Hz.
2. Launch the game and select Settings from the title screen.
3. Under Video Settings, turn V-Sync ON, then close the game.
4. Restore your monitor’s refresh rate to its original setting.
5. The game should now launch and play normally.
If the game still fails to launch after multiple attempts, please contact Customer Support.

[Steam Deck™] Some UI elements may not display correctly (Posted on October 14, 2026)

We have identified an issue where certain UI elements may appear partially off-screen when playing on Steam® Deck. We are currently investigating a fix.

[PlayStation®5 / XBOX Series X|S / Steam® / XBOX on PC] Players using certain languages (mainly Arabic) as their system language may not be able to go past the title page after saving the game and quitting to the title page (Posted on October 14, 2026)

To continue playing from your existing save data, please change your system language to another supported language (such as English).

Once another update is released addressing these, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
