Hogwarts Legacy Beginners Tips and Tricks Guide: Great Ways to Get Started

hogwarts legacy update for feb. 14

Hogwarts Legacy is a huge game with lots to do, and it can be difficult to find your footing after you’ve finished the tutorial. Fortunately, there are ways to make the first few hours a little easier for new players.

This handy set of tips offers some pointers that you can make use of as soon as you’re ready to explore the world of Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy Beginners Tips and Tricks

Revelio Is Your Friend

Revelio is a spell that you get during the tutorial stage of the game and reveals interactable objects nearby. You should use it as often as you can whenever exploring someplace new, as it can reveal a chest or some other interactable objects that you would have otherwise missed.

The spell will also react to any nearby Points of Interest, so be sure to look around to see if you hear a noise when the spell is cast.

You Won’t Be Able to Interact With Everything (At First)

If you’ve ever played RPGs before, you know that you’ll sometimes come across items or objects that you seemingly can’t unlock or interact with, requiring some sort of item, spell, or other objects in order to proceed. This is the case with Hogwarts Legacy, too, so try not to fuss over every little thing you come across until you’re well into the game.

Examples of this include locked chests and doors and cube riddles. You will want to keep an eye out for owl statues, so try to make a mental note of where you spot them so you can come back for them later in the game.

Exhaust Conversations with NPCs

While some players already do this, not everybody bothers to try and exhaust all conversation options with NPCs. After you learn a new spell from a teacher, for example, you can talk to them for a bit of extra backstory. It’s a neat little way to feel more immersed in the world, so try to talk to NPCs whenever you can until they aren’t interactable anymore.

Hogwarts Legacy - How to Change Character Appearance (Transmog) Guide

Sell Equipment to Earn Currency

Equipment in Hogwarts Legacy is sellable, and you can use this to your advantage to gain a significant amount of currency early on in the game. Simply put, sell all of your equipment that isn’t best-in-slot, and you’ll both free up inventory space and earn a good chunk of currency. This is important as you’ll need a good amount of it during the later stages of the game.

If you’re worried about losing your equipment for transmog purposes, don’t be, as you unlock a transmog option for every piece of equipment you acquire. You can learn more about Hogwarts Legacy transmog here.

And that’s about it! You don’t have to follow these tips, of course, but doing so should give you a more enjoyable experience as you cruise your way through the game’s story. Check out more Hogwarts Legacy guides here.
