Activision: We Will Have Premium and F2P Call Of Duty Experiences Next Year and Beyond

Just yesterday, a report surfaced that said that Activision was not going to release a Call of Duty game in 2023, which, if it’s legit, means that this is the first time in recent memory that there won’t be a Call of Duty game released for the year.

After running the story, an Activision spokesperson has reached out to MP1st and relayed the following statement:

We have an exciting slate of premium and free-to-play Call of Duty experiences for this year, next year and beyond. Reports of anything otherwise are incorrect. We look forward to sharing more details when the time is right.

Given how Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier is usually on the money on these things, it’s a toss up on how to take this statement by Activision. Is it a move to make sure stakeholders don’t panic? Maybe. Or maybe the publisher really does have plans to release a “premium” Call of Duty experience this year, next year and beyond? We won’t know for sure until late October, early November of 2023. Heck, this year’s Call of Duty game still hasn’t been officially revealed (alongside Warzone 2), so maybe we should focus on that one first, no?
