After Black Ops 7 Preload, Black Ops 6 & Warzone Gets Updated to 1.086
After yesterday’s gargantuan mandatory preload for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on all platforms. Activision has rolled out yet another update to both Black Ops 6 and Warzone via the COD HQ app.
Players will see this download appear as Black Ops 6 & Warzone update 1.086 (complete version 1.086.000), and this is a relatively small downlolad — especially after the 90 GB preload from yesterday.
Black Ops 6 and Warzone Gets Another Update via the COD HQ App
Given the preload from yesterday, expect this to be another download connected to Black Ops 7. Unfortunately, Activision has not mentioned anything about this update.
When it comes to the preload and existing Call of Duty files, Activision notes,”In addition to pre-loading, Call of Duty will be reorganized and existing #BlackOps6 and #Warzone content packs will be repackaged to prepare for the launch of Black Ops 7.”
Adding, “After downloading this update, players will be able to instantly load into Black Ops 7 on November 14th when it becomes available in their region. Note that launching Black Ops 6 or Warzone will cross-launch these titles similar to previous updates with Warzone moving to instant access starting with Season 01.”
Activision has acknowledged the large download, stating, “This will be a larger update for players with all Black Ops 6 and Warzone content installed; downloading or redownloading DLC packs is expected behavior. Players can reduce the size of the download by uninstalling content they’re no longer playing, like the Black Ops 6 Campaign. Players who download this update before Black Ops 7 releases will be able to hop into the action faster on launch day. And to help kickstart your progress, everyone that jumps in and plays Black Ops 7 before Season 01 will get 5 hours of 2XP and 5 hours of 2WXP.”
Expect this update to be focused on stability and compatibility among the various Call of Duty files. No word on whether this brings any front-facing gameplay changes, but so far, there doesn’t seem to be any.
